Coffee Desserts - Coffee Cinnamon Bars Recipe

Cinnamon-Coffee Bars
Big thanks to Deb for sending in this yummy sounding bars recipe. With coffee, cinnamon, raisins, nuts & a sugar glaze to top it all off, it sounds like a winner. And if you hadn't already thought of this (shame on you!) you could always have it with a cup of coffee on the side.

Ingredients:
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cup baking mix
2 tablespoons instant coffee (dry)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped nuts

***Glaze***
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 tablespoon milk

Directions:
Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 13x9 pan. Mix all ingredients except Glaze. Spread batter in pan. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Drizzle with Glaze while warm. Cut into 3 x 1-inch bars. For Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk until smooth and of desired consistency.
